Misfits Reunion

Oh mein Gott, es wird wahr! Glenn Danzig ist wieder ein Misfit. Dieses Jahr gibt es die lang ersehnte Reunion. Erstmals seit 33 Jahren werden somit Glenn Danzig und Jerry Only wieder gemeinsam auf der Bühne stehen. Ebenfalls mit von der Partie Jerrys Bruder Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein, der ebenfalls von 1980 bis 1983 Mitglied der originalen Misfits war. 1995 bis 2000 war er dann Mitglied der ersten Reinkarnation der Band mit Michale Graves als Sänger.

Nach der Reunion von Guns 'n Roses nun also schon die zweite sensationelle Wiedervereinigung 2016.

Glenn Danzig hält sich auf Facebook eher kurz:
"They said it would never happen… Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein. The Original Misfits are reuniting for Riot Fest in Chicago & Denver."

From the time of their first gig in 1977, the MISFITS and their iconic imagery went on to become one of the most crucially influential, genre-defying bands to ever emerge from North America, the MISFITS significance extends well beyond the narrowed path of punk rock & hardcore. Although not cognizant of how significant they would become, what the MISFITS achieved in their initial six-year window deconstructed and redefined rock music.
All the while, the MISFITS with Danzig's unmistakeable voice, Only's ferocious bass sound and the bands anthemic songs, melody-induced choruses and authentically bruising musicianship, cemented their importance with all ensuing generations, whether in arena-filled metal shows or in a sweaty 400-cap club in Tucson. And for the 'First Time in over Three Decades', legions of diehard fans from around the world will have the opportunity to hear the Original Band that created thousands of bands in their wake."

Ich bin gespannt ob weitere Shows vor allem auch in Europa folgen.

Stellt sich nur noch die Frage, wer Schlagzeuger wird. Ich plädiere für Robo, der immerhin von 1982-83 im letzten Lineup der Band vor Glenn Danzigs Ausstieg dabei war - gemeinsam mit Glenn, Jerry und Doyle...
